Not heard of Park and Ride before?
It’s simple as this…
You drive to the car park and then take a shuttle to the airport which is provided by the car park.
When you book your airport parking online or over the phone, you give an approximate time of drop-off and pick-up time. Even though the car parks have these timings, still you may have to contact them prior to arrive at the car park. If so please call as they may need to arrange a staff member to do the paper work and help you par the vehicle.
Once the paper work is done, hop in to the shuttle and take the ride to the airport terminal. Depends on the car park you book, there can be a charge for the shuttle ride. On your way back from your trip, you need to contact the car park to get the shuttle so you can go back to the car park to collect your vehicle.
If the car park has the facility to wash and wax your vehicle, you can do so by paying an extra amount.

Tips

Not all the car parks run the shuttle service on demand. Some have standard times such as every 10. 15, 20 or 30 minutes they operate. If so you need to plan your parking having plenty of time to catch your flight.
> Do I have to pay for the shuttle ride?
Some car parks do not charge a separate fee for the shuttle as its free or that fee is already include in the parking fee. If not you will have to pay for the shuttle. The fee may vary from £1 to £ 3 per person and this could be per ride or both ways. It depends on the car park provider’s terms and conditions. You may not have enough change especially when you come back from your trip so it’s always better to keep enough change in the vehicle at least you can pay once you come back from the airport to collect your vehicle.
> Instructions prior to arrive at the car park
Even-though you enter your approximate drop off and pick up times at the time of booking, some car parks will want you to contact them may be 10 or 20 minutes prior to arrive at the car park. If they requested please note the number and call the car park. This could be that they have to allocate a person to may be, open the gates (if its secured car park you cannot enter as you please) or park the vehicle or do the paperwork.
> Need to leave the keys with the car park or not
Since its park and ride most of people think after parking the vehicle, you can take the car keys with you. Some car parks will still want you to keep the keys with them.
